Installing the Crawford Fuel Saver on your vehicle is a quick, seamless, and easy process. Usually this process can take less than 5 minutes, and shouldn’t require any tools other than a screwdriver. Below is a video demonstrating this process, as well as a step-by-step written instruction guide.
- Locate your MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor, you will find it in the housing or tube close to your air cleaner.
- Using a Philips screwdriver remove the two small screws that hold the MAF sensor to the housing.
- Lift the MAF sensor out of the housing; if the attached wire harness is too short to lift MAF sensor out then unplug it from the MAF sensor.
- Place the supplied O-ring in the bottom groove on the Fuel Saver then place the Fuel Saver on the top of the housing making sure that the O-ring stays in place. You can either look inside the Fuel Saver or use your finger to make sure the O-ring is not protruding inside.
- Choose the correct style of longer screws based on the style removed from your car then install them through the MAF and Fuel Saver and screw them into the housing to hold down the Fuel Saver and MAF. Tighten the screws carefully and evenly making sure that you do not pinch the O-ring. Do not over tighten the screws as they are going into a plastic housing. (Your Fuel Saver package includes two different kinds of new longer screws, make sure to match the screws you took out of your car originally as closely as possible to the provided longer screws by comparing the threads on the old shorter screws and the threads on the provided longer screws)
- Plug the electrical connector back in if you removed it in step #3.
- Close your hood and enjoy your fuel savings, performance increase and decreased emissions.
